Quick answers

Adding Video Lessons

Uploading

  1. Open the lesson and choose the video type.
  2. Drop your file or choose it. MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV are accepted.
  3. Wait for processing. Captions are generated automatically; choose the caption language first.

Your video allowance is 10 hours on Starter, 50 on Pro and 100 on Elite, counted across your whole library.

Embedding instead

Use the embed lesson type for YouTube (unlisted works well), Vimeo, SoundCloud, Spotify, or any player that provides an embed.

Recording well

Good light, a dedicated microphone, a clean background, and a moderate pace. Export at 1080p and 30 frames per second; 4K adds size without adding much for course video.

Keep it short

Under fifteen minutes per lesson keeps completion high.

Drip Content

Drip releases modules on a schedule instead of all at once.

Why

Paced learning is finished more often, and students have something to come back for.

Setting it

Drip is set per module from the curriculum:

  • Available immediately
  • Days after enrolment: for example module two on day 7
  • Specific date: everyone unlocks together, good for cohorts
  • After the previous module is completed

The drip timeline shows when each module opens.

What students see

Locked modules show as locked, with when they unlock.

Tips

Keep the first module open, space modules about a week apart, and tell students the schedule up front.

How do I give someone access to my course?

Through an offer

Create an offer under Sell → Offers & Checkout that unlocks the course, and share its checkout link. Buyers get access the moment they pay. A free tier works the same way and captures their email.

Yourself, for one person

  1. Go to Audience → Contacts and open the person.
  2. Choose the course in their record to enrol them.

They receive access straight away.

With a community

Attach the course to a Sphere, or create an offer that unlocks both.

Seeing who has access

The Students panel in the course builder lists everyone enrolled, with their progress.

Removing access

Removing a student is not self-service yet. Message us from the Help launcher and we will do it.

Can students see my unfinished lessons?

While the course is a draft

Nobody but you sees it. Keep the status at Draft under Settings → General until it is ready.

Once it is published

Everything in a published course is visible to enrolled students, apart from modules held back by drip. If you are adding a new module to a live course, either build it and add it when it is complete, or give it a drip date so it unlocks when you choose.

Checking what students see

Preview and View as student show the course exactly as a learner gets it.

Editing live lessons

Edits to a published lesson are live as soon as you save.

Course Builder Basics

Creating a course

Create → Course Studio → New Studio.

The interface

Area Purpose
Left The curriculum: modules and lessons
Centre The editor for the selected lesson
Header Preview, View as student, Save, and the Students, Assessments, Analytics, Coupons and Templates panels

Modules and lessons

Add a Module, then add lessons inside it. Each lesson has a type: text, video, audio, image, PDF, file, embed, quiz or assignment.

Saving

Choose Save in the header after editing.

Previewing

Preview opens the course pages; View as student opens the learner's experience.

Using Course Templates

Templates give you a course structure to start from.

Opening templates

In the builder, choose Templates in the header.

Two kinds

  • Starter templates provided by Gadura for common course shapes.
  • My Templates: structures you saved from your own courses.

Applying one

Choose a template to see its modules and lessons, then apply it. If your course already has content, you can add the template alongside it rather than replacing it.

Afterwards

A template gives you the skeleton. Add your content to each lesson, upload your video, and adjust the order.

Creating Quizzes for Your Course

Adding a quiz

Add a lesson and choose the Quiz type.

Question types

  • Multiple choice: one correct answer among options.
  • True or false.
  • Matching: pair items from two columns.

Add an optional image to a question and an explanation shown after the answer.

Quiz settings

Randomise the order of questions and of answers.

Results

Attempts and scores appear in the Assessments panel; the Analytics panel shows average score, pass rate, score distribution and performance by lesson.

Understanding Quiz Analytics

Open the course builder and choose Analytics.

What you see

  • Quiz Attempts: how many times quizzes were submitted.
  • Avg Score and Pass Rate.
  • Score Distribution: how scores spread from low to high.
  • Quiz Performance by Lesson: which quizzes students find hard.

Using it

A low pass rate on one lesson usually means the lesson did not teach what the quiz asks. Reword the question, add an explanation, or strengthen the lesson.

Setting Up Drip Content

The four choices

Per module:

  • Available immediately.
  • Days after enrolment: relative to each student's start.
  • Specific date: the same date for everyone; good for cohorts.
  • After the previous module: sequential courses.

Setting it

In the curriculum, open the module's drip settings, choose the type and value, and save.

The timeline

The drip timeline shows when each module opens.

What students see

Locked modules show as locked with their unlock time. Direct links do not bypass the lock.

Tips

First module open, weekly cadence, and tell students the schedule before they buy.

Viewing Assessments and Submissions

Open the course builder and choose Assessments.

Quizzes

Every quiz attempt with the student, the lesson, and the score.

Assignments

Submissions waiting for you. Open one, read the work, give a grade out of 100 and optional feedback for the student.

For deeper numbers

The Analytics panel shows averages, pass rates and the distribution of scores.

Exporting Your Course as SCORM

SCORM packages let a course run inside another learning system, such as a company or university LMS.

Exporting

In the course builder choose Export as SCORM, pick SCORM 1.2 or SCORM 2004, and download the package.

What is included

The course structure and content, completion status reporting, and progress tracking through the SCORM runtime.

What is not

Gadura's video hosting, quiz grading beyond completion, certificates and community features stay in Gadura.

Uploading to an LMS

Upload the package as a SCORM package without extracting it, then assign it to learners. Use SCORM 2004 unless the LMS requires 1.2.

Saving Your Course as a Template

Why

Reuse a structure that works, and start the next course faster.

How

In the course builder choose Save as Template, name it, and describe what it is best for.

What is saved

The structure: modules, lesson titles and types, drip settings and quiz structure. Lesson content, files and student data are not part of a template.

Using it

Open Templates in any course and choose it under My Templates.

Setting Up Completion Certificates

Turning them on

In the course builder open Settings → Features and turn on Completion Certificate.

What the certificate holds

The student's name, the course title, the completion date and a unique certificate number.

When it is issued

When a student completes the course.

What the student gets

A certificate to download, and a verification link that anyone can open to confirm the certificate is genuine.

Managing Enrolled Students

Open the course builder and choose Students.

What you see

Total students, average progress, and each student's progress and completion.

Adding a student yourself

Go to Audience → Contacts, open the person, and choose the course to enrol them.

Removing a student

Not self-service yet. Message us from the Help launcher and we will do it.

Creating Discount Coupons

In the course builder

Choose Coupons for a quick code:

  1. Enter a code such as SUMMER20.
  2. Set the percentage off.
  3. Create it.

You see how many times each code was used, and can delete codes.

Full options

Expiry dates, maximum uses and fixed-amount discounts live on the offer: Sell → Offers & Checkout → Coupons. Customers enter codes through the "Have a coupon?" link at checkout.

Publishing Your Course

Draft and Published

Status Meaning
Draft Only you see it
Published Live for students

Publishing

In the course builder open Settings → General and set the status to Published. Gadura asks you to confirm.

Before you publish

At least one lesson with content, a title and description, a cover image, and an offer if you are selling it. Use Preview and View as student first.

Unpublishing

Set the status back to Draft. Enrolled students keep their access.

Uploading Videos and Media

Video

Choose the video lesson type and drop your file. MP4, MOV, WebM and MKV are accepted. Your allowance is 10 hours on Starter, 50 on Pro and 100 on Elite across your library. Processing takes a few minutes and captions are generated automatically.

Embeds

YouTube, Vimeo, SoundCloud, Spotify, or any player with an embed, through the embed lesson type.

Images

Up to 10 MB each: JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP.

Documents, audio and files

PDF, documents, audio and archives up to 50 MB each. Students download them from the lesson.

Tips

Under fifteen minutes per video, 1080p, clear audio.

Setting Course Pricing

Courses are sold through offers

A course does not carry its own price. Create an offer under Sell → Offers & Checkout, choose the course as what it unlocks, and set the tiers: one-time, monthly, yearly, payment plan, pay what you want, or free.

The course's Settings → Pricing tab shows the linked offer, or that students enrol free.

Free courses

A free tier still runs through checkout, so you capture the student's email.

Payments and currency

Payments run through your own Stripe account, connected under Sell → Payments, where you also set your default currency. Each tier can carry its own currency.

Coupons

Percentage or fixed-amount codes, with expiry and usage limits, on the offer under Coupons.

Setting Up Free Preview Lessons

Marking a lesson

Open the lesson in the builder and turn on free preview.

What it does

Visitors can open that lesson without enrolling. It does not unlock anything else.

Choosing well

An introduction or a compelling sample lesson. One to three previews is enough. For capturing emails, a free tier on an offer does more than a preview.

Understanding Course Analytics

In the course builder

Choose Analytics for this course: students active in the last 7 days, average progress, quiz attempts, average score, pass rate, score distribution, and quiz performance by lesson. The Students panel shows each student's progress.

Across your business

Insights → Analytics shows your business at a glance with period comparison, and Insights → Sales lists every transaction, including course sales, in the currency paid.

Reading it

Low average progress usually points at a lesson where people stop. Look at completion by lesson and at quiz performance to find it.

The Student Learning Experience

Where students go

Students sign in to the member portal, where every course they own is listed with its progress.

The course player

The curriculum on one side, the lesson in the centre, and progress that saves as they go. Video streams adaptively with captions, and playback controls include speed and full screen.

Discussions

When lesson discussions are on, students comment under lessons.

Assessments

Quizzes are marked immediately; assignments wait for your grade and feedback.

Certificates

When completion certificates are on, finishing the course issues a certificate the student can download and share with a verification link.

On phones

The portal works in the phone browser and can be added to the home screen like an app.

Mobile and Home Screen Access

Students use the member portal in any browser. There is no app store download; the portal can be installed to the home screen as a web app.

iPhone and iPad

Open the portal in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.

Android

Open the portal in Chrome, open the menu, then Add to Home Screen or Install.

What they get

An icon on the home screen, the full course player, progress that syncs, and notifications when they allow them.

Course Limits by Plan

Starter Pro Elite
Course studios 5 25 50
Video library 10 hours 50 hours 100 hours

There is no cap on students per course.

Reaching a limit

You cannot create another course past your limit; existing courses keep working. The video allowance counts every hosted video in your library; remove old videos or upgrade.

Checking and upgrading

Settings → Billing shows your usage and lets you upgrade.

Organising Your Courses

The course list

Create → Course Studio lists your courses. Filter by status and sort by newest.

Names and thumbnails

Clear names that say the topic and the outcome. Thumbnails in your brand so the list and the member portal look like one place.

Draft and Published

Build in Draft. Publish when it is ready.

Bundles

Sell several courses together with one offer that unlocks all of them.

Video Playback for Students

The player

Play and pause, seek, volume, full screen, playback speed, and captions generated automatically.

Adaptive quality

Quality adapts to the viewer's connection, so slow connections keep playing at a lower quality rather than stopping.

Progress

Lesson progress is saved as students watch and complete lessons.

On phones

Touch controls and landscape full screen work in the browser and in the installed web app.

For creators

Test on a phone as well as a laptop, keep lessons short, and record clear audio.
